Inland Rail

FJA contributed to Inland Rail Works

FJA™ collaborated with Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) and CPM Advisory and Project Management to deliver the Inland Rail project – Australia’s largest freight rail infrastructure project. Inland Rail is a fast freight backbone that is transforming how goods are moved around Australia. It means freight can be delivered faster and more reliably to growing population and global markets. This 1,700km rail project, connecting Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, will better connect producers to markets and generate new opportunities for businesses, industries and regional communities. The project is split into 13 sub-projects. Also, it means safer, less congested roads and fewer carbon emissions.

Since Australia’s population is expected to reach 45 million by 2060, we need a more reliable and efficient rail network to meet our increasing freight demands and take the load off already congested roads. To sum up, this freight rail project is a smart move for Australia. It will bring widespread and long-term benefits to Australia.

FJA™ was engaged to client-side project management for the project. We also procured utility investigation and design services for multiple utility relocations. Highlights included 26km of Vocus fiber optic relocations. Relocation of APA, Jemena and many other assets.

Construction of the project commenced in late 2018 and it is expected to be completed in 2027.
