FJA™ selected for Singleton – New England Highway Bypass Works

FJA™ was selected by Transport for NSW to deliver the New England Highway for Singleton. The Australian Government has committed $560 million and the NSW Government $140 million to build the Singleton bypass. The New England Highway is part of the inland Sydney to Brisbane National Land Transport Network. It is the primary route connecting the Upper Hunter with Maitland and Newcastle. The highway passes through the center of Singleton and carries around 26,000 vehicles, including more than 3700 heavy vehicles in a day.

Traffic volumes are predicted to increase in the next 25 years. Therefore, the planned bypass of Singleton would improve the movement of freight and journeys for current and future traffic demands.

FJA™ was engaged to undertake Detailed Design and Modelling of Utilities for the project. FJA™ managed the site investigation and federation of a 3D model. Additionally, we produced detailed design of Ausgrid electrical packages, Singleton Council water and sewer packages and coordinated all non contestable designs. Besides, we involved in utility asset identification and collation of utility asset register as well as the preparation of utility coordination plans.

Construction is expected to start in late 2022 and be completed by late 2026.
