FJA Underbore is led by two directors: Jeremy Hopson, Ahmad Dorani and is led by underboring specialist Andrew Smith. Jeremy, Ahmad and Andrew are passionate leaders who believe in delivering quality and value. FJA Underbore are committed to continuous improvement and providing services which exceed both clients’ expectations and ensure the business continues to meet all statutory and regulatory requirements. The team is supported by FJA Consulting, which consists of technical staff ranging from principal engineers to undergraduate staff who collaborate and focus on delivering the best outcomes for our client base.

TRENCHLESS LEAD – ANDREW SMITH
Andrew Smith is a trenchless design engineer with chartered engineer (CPeng NER) and RPEQ status. Andrew has worked in the trenchless industry in roles working alongside both trenchless contractors and design / consultancy organisations. Andrew has delivered projects involving the design of new trenchless installations, including HDD and Micro-tunnelling construction methodologies.

Andrew has assisted underboring contractors, utility asset owners, consultancy, design and construction companies to deliver trenchless services ranging from concept / feasibility to detailed design stages of a project. Andrew has worked alongside organisations in NSW, QLD, ACT and VIC to deliver works and gain design approvals from stakeholders such as the Department of Main Roads (DTMR), Queensland Rail (QR), Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW), Sydney Trains, ARTC and Sydney Water. Andrew has delivered projects requiring the trenchless installation of telecommunications, electrical, gas, water, sewer and drainage beneath major roadways, railway corridors, waterways and environmentally sensitive areas. Andrew is an active member of the ASTT Young Professional’s committee.
